The State Charter Schools Commission of Georgia (SCSC) released its 2018 School Performance Report in February, which assesses if state charter schools are fulfilling the SCSC mission of providing students with better educational opportunities than they would otherwise receive in traditional district schools. In the 2017-18 academic year, the majority of state charter schools (52 percent) academically outperformed their comparison school districts (attendance zones).
